Obituary East Peoria- Scott Watkins, 50 of East Peoria, passed away at 2:25 AM on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 following a courageous battle with cancer. Scott was born on November 7, 1962 in Bloomington, IL to the late John and Joyce Apps Watkins. Surviving are three sons, Codi Gaddis and Justin Gaddis of Bloomington, Caden Watkins of Metamora and a daughter, Michala Watkins of Metamora; many aunts, uncles and cousins including Doug Veal of Bloomington, IL. Scott was a Union Carpenter for Local 183 for the past 15 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Funeral Service will take place at 4:00 PM on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria. Rev. Rick Kensinger will officiate. Honoring Scott's wishes cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michala and Caden Watkins Education Fund c/o CEFCU in East Peoria or to OSF Hospice.
