Obituary Sarah Gayle Johnson, 68, of East Peoria, passed away at 7:56am Monday, July 18, 2016 at UnityPoint Proctor in Peoria. Sarah was born November 28, 1947 in Whitewood, VA to Edward and Eunice White Cantrell. She later married Harry Johnson; he preceded her in death in 1995. Surviving are her siblings, Gary (Rosetta) Cantrell of Noblesville, IN and Judy (Kerry) Springer of Ft. Wayne, IN; step-sons, Larry (Judy) Johnson, Harry (Janice) Johnson, Gary (Vicki) Johnson, and Arlen Joe (Jena) Johnson; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews; and her two beloved cats, Charlie and Tippy. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her dog, Nubbins. Sarah was a member at Bay View Baptist Church in Washington and was also a proud nurse. She touched many lives through her work in local nursing homes and through her ministry as nurse and founder of a widow's support group at her church. A funeral service for Sarah will be held at 10:00am Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria. Visitation will be from 5-7:00pm Friday, July 22, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Pastor Brett Bedwell will officiate.
