Obituary

Sarah M. (Cunningham) Brubaker, 31, of Colorado, formerly of Washington, passed away unexpectedly August 15th, 2022.

Sarah was born on September 19th, 1990, in Peoria to her parents Shelly (Ellis) and Terry Cunningham. She met her best friend and partner in adventure, Jesse L. Brubaker, of Peoria IL, late summer 2009 (married June 20th, 2016).

Jesse survives with their biggest blessing, baby Sunny Louise. Sarah is also survived by her parents, Terry and Shelly (Ellis) Cunningham; her sister, Shelby (Aaron) Carey; her two grandmothers, Karen Ellis and Donna Knabe; her nieces, Lennox, Leira and Charlotte; and nephews, Kameron, Carl, William, Cruze and Jaxton.

Sarah completed her Bachelors in Business Management, Human Resources at Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville. After graduation Sarah and Jesse moved to Colorado to enjoy many years of memories among the mountains.

Sarah had been working as an Administrative Specialist for the 5th Judicial District of Colorado for the last 5 years.

Sarah loved spending time with her husband and family. When Sunny arrived Sarah discovered her new passion for loving her daughter and being a great mom. Sarah also loved decorating and everything to do with fall. She had a weakness for birthday cakes and soft blankets, kept us laughing and always kept in touch.

Sarah offered so much love and life to everyone she knew. She will be deeply missed for years to come by her husband, family and friends. Sarah was preceded in death by her grandfathers Delmar Cunningham and John Ellis; her Uncles Steven Goff and Jim Cunningham.
