Sandy Slizewski, 79, of Morton, formerly of Washington, passed away at 12:40am Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at River Crossing Nursing Home in East Peoria. Sandy was born November 15, 1941 in Peoria to the late Edward and Ella Blumenshine Wissel. She married Eugene Slizewski in 1999; he preceded her in death in 2020. Surviving are her children Stephanie Carver and Christopher Finson and her grandchildren, Zachary, Brock, Brant, and Cody. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Betty and Donna. Sandy was an accountant and tax preparer for over 40 years. She loved helping people and having dinner with friends and family. Her happy-go-lucky personality will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
