Ruth Ann Sollberger, 97, formerly of East Peoria, IL, passed away on February 3, 2025 at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria, IL.

Born on August 17, 1927 in East Peoria to Jacob and Louise Hugh Wiegand, she married F. Cecil Sollberger on October 29, 1949 in East Peoria. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1967.

Surviving are her children, Rebecca (Larry) French of Peoria, IL and Ronald (Karen) Sollberger of Crestview Hills, KY; her sister, Alma (Francis) Fassett of Peoria, IL; 4 grandchildren, Simon French, Jane (John) White, Ryan Sollberger and Scott Sollberger; 3 great-grandchildren; and many dear nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Barbara Sollberger, and sisters, Mary (Lee) Swadley and Caroline (Harold) Winkler.

Ruth was a payroll administrator at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 32 years and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria.  She will be remembered for her sacrificial love for family, her strong faith, and for being a prayer warrior.

Services will be at 1:30 pm Friday, February 7, 2025 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, Pastor Mark Nelson will officiate.  Visitation will be from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
