Obituary WASHINGTONa"Ruth L. Sawyer, 82, of Washington died at 10:57 AM on Friday, January 30, 2009 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria. Born January 21, 1927 in West Frankfort, IL to James and Rose Schramm Daffron, she married Leland James Sawyer on December 24, 1945 in Pinkneyville, IL. He preceded her in death on November 11, 2007 in Peoria. Surviving is one son, Bruce Sawyer of Peoria; 5 grandchildren, Daniel Sawyer of Morton, Michael (Kortney) Sawyer of Delavan, IL, Matthew Faubel of Springfield, IL, Harold (Katherine) Reavley of Hanna City, IL, and Ken Reavley of Las Vegas, NV; 4 great grandchildren, Alex, Owen and Emma Sawyer, and Sophia Reavley; 1 brother, John Daffron and 2 sisters, Odell Stevenson and Ida Mae Rich. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Joyce Reavley, 1 sister and 1 brother. Ruth was an antique dealer for 20 years, and volunteered at Proctor Hospital for many years. She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church in Washington. A private graveside service will be held at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
