Ruth Jeanelle Roberts, 87, of Washington, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Snyder Village in Metamora.

She was born September 7, 1937 in Russellville, Alabama to the late William Claude and Mattie (Gandy) Hines.  She married Dellas Vernon Roberts in Peoria on March 28, 1959.  He preceded her in death on November 19, 1998.  She was also preceded in death by four brothers: Marvin, Herman, Albert, and Tiny Hines and three sisters; Mildred Martin, Elsie Wilson, and Polly Shaner.

Surviving are two children, Daniel (Christy) Roberts and Kathy (Pete) List; five grandchildren, Ashley Slevin, Andrew Roberts, Matthew (Taylor) List, Peter List, Jessica List; three great-grandchildren, Maddyson, Daniel, and Ian List; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jeanelle worked in the banking industry for 40 years, retiring from PNC as a Vice President.

She was a devout Christian and a longtime member of Paris Avenue Church of Christ in Peoria. She held various bible studies in her home.

Jeanelle was the organizer for family reunions and was a special aunt to many. Her home was always open to visitors.

Jeanelle will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be at 11am Monday, March 31st at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10am to 11am Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
