Obituary Russell E. Carroll, 88, of Washington, passed away at 6:10 pm Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017 at Reflections Memory Care in Washington. He was born Dec. 21, 1928 in Crawfordsville, IN to Frank and Mary Fielden Carroll. He married Ida E. Richardson on April 9, 1948. She preceded him in death on June 27, 2016. He was also preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers and 1 sister. Surviving are 3 children, David (Arlene) Carroll of Crossville, TN, Sharon Carroll of Indianapolis, IN, Gary (Sharon) Carroll of Washington; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Patricia (Lloyd) Young of Greenfield, IN, Alice Deckard of Pendleton, IN; and 2 sister-in-laws, Nell Carroll of Palmetto, FL and Audrey Wright of Hanna City. Russell worked at Caterpillar Inc., retiring in 1990 as a product quality engineer after 38 years of service. He was active in a non-denominational Christian fellowship. Memorials may be made to Reflections Memory Care or Transitions Hospice. Russell's funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington with Ronald Thomke, Jeff Thayer and Nathan Pedigo officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
