Obituary Ruby P. Diaz, 79, of East Peoria, IL, died at 2:30 pm Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at her residence. She was born on January 17, 1933 in Manchester, KY to Crit and Mabel Nichols Pennington. She married Richard Herold in 1980, he died in 1993. She later married Joseph Diaz in 1997 and he preceded her in death in 2006. She is survived by 1 son, Donald (Wendy McGill) Boyd of East Peoria, IL, 5 grandchildren, Sarah Chase, Jonathan Boyd, Bruce Boyd, Brandon Barnett and Dylan Boyd, 5 great-grandchildren, and several brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald, her parents, and several brothers and sisters. Ruby worked as an Auditor for the Sheridan Dayton Hotel Company in Dayton, OH. She was also a member of the VFW Post #2078 Ladies Auxiliary in East Peoria. A memorial visitation will be from 12-2 pm Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Cremation rites will be accorded.
