Obituary EAST PEORIAa"Roy E. "Ed" Orr, Jr., 59, of East Peoria, died at 1:05 PM on Wed, June 29, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born Aug 30, 1951 in Danville, IL to Roy E. and Aileen (Glatz) Orr, Sr. Surviving are his mother, Aileen Orr of Washington; 5 children, Dale (Cindy) Orr of East Peoria, Brian (Shanna) Orr of Creve Coeur, Eric (Joey) Benson of Pekin, Roy Orr III and Amy Orr, both of East Peoria; 5 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Becky Prunty of Peoria, AZ, and Terri (Mark) Dickson of Mackinaw; 3 brothers, Tim (Dee) Orr of Eureka, Chris (Mary) Orr and Nick (Jane) Orr, both of Washington; 36 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by an infant brother, his father and his grandparents. He was a 1969 graduate of Spalding Institute in Peoria and later completed the Caterpillar Apprentice Program. Ed worked at Caterpillar, Inc, the Batchelder Co., and OSF St. Francis Medical Center until 2009. A funeral service will be held at 3PM on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Msgr. John Prendergast will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.
