Obituary WASHINGTON - Roxie Rebecca Dean, 87, of Washington, died at 5:56 am Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born on August 29, 1919 in Maury County, TN to Thomas Henry and Mary Elizabeth Moore, she married John Lee Dean on April 4, 1939 in Davidson Co., TN. He died on August 27, 1988. Surviving are 2 daughters, Joan (Tom) Tankersley of Germantown Hills, IL, and Patsy (Ron) Lillegard of Webster, WI, 3 granddaughters, Becky (Tim) Fitzsimmons of Germantown, IL, Trudy (Mark) Schmidt of Webster, WI and Lisa (Mike) Kemper of Washington, IL, 1 grandson, Todd Tankersley of Germantown Hills, IL, 1 brother, Dempsey Moore of Athens, Alabama, 10 great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Codie, Corrie, Conner, Matthew, Mandy, Jason, Alex, Michael, and Tara, 1 great-grandson, Colin Joshua, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a great-grandson, Joshua Chasteen, who died in 1996. She was a seamstress at Princess Peggy Dress Factory in Peoria for several years and later used her talent for the enjoyment of her family and friends by making quilts and crafts. She was a member of the International Garment Makers Union. A time of reflection will be at 6:00 pm Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, TN. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
