She was an only child but was adopted into her husband, Gilbert's family of 8 brothers and 2 sisters. His, became the family of siblings she never had. She developed lifelong relationships with his brothers, sisters and their spouses. She was very close with many of her nieces and nephews, until her passing, despite most of them living hundreds of miles away; maintaining contact with them through Facebook, encouraging and lifting them up well past her 90th birthday.
Rosemary and Gilbert were members of Bethel Presbyterian Church for many years. Together they led the Youth Group there for a number of years. She continued to communicate with and encourage a number of those young people nearly 50 years later. They were members of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria for the past 45 years. They worked together for decades in the Three-Year-Old Department, Vacation Bible School and Kitchen Crew. They also took several Missions Trips together to Camp Evangel in rural Virginia which serves disadvantaged children from the Appalachian region. They served as volunteer/mentors at Glen Oak Grade School as part of the Good News Club Program for many years. She prayed every day for her family, friends and young people whose lives she had impacted over seven decades. Her life reflected the admonition of 1 Peter 4:10 "Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of the varied grace of God." The family would like to thank Dr. Jeff Leman, Pastor John Hopwood, special neighbor Donna Williams and the staff at Morningside of Washington for their love and support during what was a difficult final 4 months of her life.
