Rose Raher, 90, of Eureka, formerly of Washington, passed away at 1:20am Thursday, January 28, 2021 at The Loft in Eureka.
Rose was born May 19, 1930 in Lemont to the late Peter A. and Anna F. (Weber) Mirkes. On September 6, 1952, she married John R. "Dick" Raher in Lemont; he preceded her in death on October 14, 1983.
Surviving are their children, Mary (John) Roth of Lemont, Michael (Mary Pat) Raher of Hawaii, Maureen Raher (Steve Hoechler) of Arizona, Megan (Mike) Winchell of Germantown Hills, and Matthew (Amy) Raher of Peoria; grandchildren, David, Amy, Jessica, Zoe, Truman, Nikki, and Charity; and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her two siblings, Juanita and Peter Mirkes; and a great-grandson.
Rose was a faithful member of St. Patrick Church in Washington for many years. She served with the Ladies' Guild and Cursillo #349. She worked as a housekeeper and cook in the rectories of St. Patrick, St. Thomas and St. Peter Churches, and received a Papal Award for her dedicated service to the Diocese of Peoria.
Her family would like to thank the staff at The Loft and Washington Supportive Living for the care they provided Rose.
A private funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Church in Washington. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Seminary Fund for the Diocese of Peoria.
