Obituary Ronald Raymond Lagron, 75, of Farmington, IL, died at 6 pm Friday, June 22, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Born on November 20, 1936 in Peoria, IL, to Raymond and Marie Lulay Lagron, he married Pat Overturf on December 26, 1959 in Peoria, IL. She survives in Metamora, IL. Also surviving are Ron and Pats children, Debi Lagron (David Kested) of Chiefland, FL and Brian (Linda) Lagron of Metamora, IL, his daughter-in-law, Joan Lagron of Bellemont, AZ, his brother, Donald (Pat) Lagron of Scott, LA, 2 grandchildren, Jacob and Jennifer Lagron, his special friend, Kay Fairburn of Farmington, IL, and her 3 children, Mark (Ellen) Balagna, Paul (Camille) Balagna, and Amy (Jim) Ulm. He was preceded in death by his son, Alan Lagron on March 20, 2012. Ron was a graduate of Woodruff High School and attended Bradley University. He then worked at Bradley University for 12 years and for Honeywell for 25 years, retiring in 1998, working both jobs as a Local #353 Steamfitter Union member. He was a member of the East Peoria Isaak Walton League, where he was considered their master meat smoker. He was also a member of the Farmington Moose Lodge. A Celebration of Life will be held from 5-7 pm Monday, June 25, 2012 at the Flame Family Restaurant Banquet Room in Metamora. Cremation rites will be accorded per his request. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
