Ronald P. Goetze, 86, of Peoria and formerly of Washington, IL, died at 10:20 am Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Buehler Home in Peoria.

Born on January 23, 1937 in rural Canton, IL to Philip and Alma Jost Goetze, he married Helen Higgs on March 17, 1957 in Maquon, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are 2 sons, Rick (Anna ) Goetze and Ron (Robb Brooks) Goetze, Jr., 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Donald and Gene.

Ron worked at CILCO as a Senior Relay Tech, retiring on January 1, 1996. After retirement, Ron volunteered in many ways, wherever there was a need. He was a member of Living Waters Lutheran Church in Peoria.

A memorial service for Ron will be at 12 noon on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Living Waters Lutheran Church. Pastor Mark Schoenhals will officiate. Visitation will be from 11-12 noon on Saturday at the church.
