Obituary
Rollin E. Coffman, 81, of Washington, passed away at 1:13pm, Friday, July 25, 2014 at Reflections Memory Care in Washington.
Rollin was born on Sepetmber 19, 1932 in Peoria, to Eugene and Leota Huntley Coffman. He married Melba J. Benad on June 30, 1962 in Peoria; she preceded him in death on January 17, 2014.
Surviving are three nieces, Debbie (David) Doak of Smithville, MO, Karen (David) Carter of Mason, MI, and Sabrina (Bob) Byrnes of Liberty, MO; one nephew, Brian Delgado of Locust Grove, GA, and a brother, Jack (Juanita) Coffman of Peoria.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim Coffman
Rollin served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, from 1952-1956. He retired in 1981 after 31 years of service as a millwright at Caterpillar Tractor Co. In his retirement, he enjoyed golfing with the Over the Hill Gang at local courses and was a greeter at WalMart in Washington for 14 years. He also volunteered with Northern Tazewell Fire Department and was a member of UAW Local #974.
A funeral service for Rollin will be held at 10am, Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00pm, Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington, and military honors will be rendered.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Northern Tazewell Rescue Squad.
