Obituary
PEORIA- Roger Ballou, 59, of Peoria, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 9:00PM at his residence.
Roger was born March 25, 1955 to Leo and Marjorie Farrar Ballou. He married Debra Pappas on August 29, 1986 in Lake Tahoe, NV. She survives.
Also surviving is his son, Ben (Michelle) Hamann of Bloomington; one granddaughter, Sydney Hamann; and his two four-legged children, Pepe and Bella.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and beloved dog, Angel.
Roger graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1973. He completed a 4 year Machinist Apprenticeship from Caterpillar in 1982. He was a certified UAW Journeyman All Around Tool Machinist. He was last employed with ATS as a Skill Trades Machinist.
Roger was a member of The Sportscar Club of America for 10 years.
To Roger, family was the most important thing in life. Those whose lives he touched were blessed to have known him. He was a positive, cheerful, and giving person. He will be greatly missed as a loving father, grandfather, and husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Illinois Cancer Center in Peoria.
A memorial service for Roger will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 7:00PM at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. A visitation will be held a half hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded.
