Obituary WASHINGTON - Robin L. Spencer, MD, 62, of Washington, IL, died at 11:38 am Thursday, February 26, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on May 13, 1952 in Ypsilanti, MI to Ralph S. and Shirley J. Streeter Spencer. He married Shelley L. Godwin on September 27, 1980 in Toledo, OH. Surviving are his wife; his father of Redmond, WA; three children, Elise A. Spencer of Roscoe, IL, Lauren B. Spencer (Jonathan M. Hines) of Rockton, IL, and Jeffrey L. (Hannah C.) Spencer of Denver, CO; two sisters, Lani Spencer of Redmond, WA and Leslie Spencer of Oakbrook, IL; and his devoted collies, Finnegan and Reilly. He was preceded in death by his mother. Robin received his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, "Go Blue", his medical education at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, and completed his family practice residency at Toledo Hospital in Toledo, OH. He was Board Certified through the American Board of Family Medicine. He has served as the Executive Medical Director for the OSF Medical Group, which is comprised of over 700 physicians and advanced practice providers in Illinois and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington. Services will be at 11 am Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington. Pastors John N. Bates, Youngshim Mason, and Dick Hanson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Monday, March 2, 2015 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, with additional visitation from 10:30-11 am Tuesday at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the OSF Health Care Foundation to go towards education or health of those in need.
