Obituary East Peoria- Robert E. Willis, 78 of East Peoria, passed away at 2:05 PM on Friday, October 19, 2012 at his home. Robert was born on August 7, 1934 in Edwards, IL. He married Eileen Masters on February 27, 1960 in Peoria, IL. She survives. Also surviving are seven children, Greg (Debbie) Willis of Gilbert, AZ, Kathy (Curtis Phillips) Kerker of Washington, IL, Steve (Maria Atherton) Willis of Germantown Hills, Margaret (Scott) Thatcher of Georgetown, DE, Jenny (Steve) Ball of East Peoria, Tim Willis of Albuquerque, NM and Julia (Orlando) Duran of Washington, IL; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by a daughter Elizabeth Ann Willis on July 22, 2011, a granddaughter Sabrina Duran on March 27, 2007 and a sister Norma Kneer. Bob was a General Supervisor in general accounting for Caterpillar Tractor Company retiring in 1987 with more than 35 years of service. He served in the United States Army. Bob was a member of the Elks in Peoria. He also enjoyed bowling, golf, fishing in Wee-Ma-Tuk, and was an avid Bears fan. Funeral Service will take place at 6:00 PM on Monday, October 22, 2012 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria. Rev. Mark Westman will officiate. Honoring Bob's wishes cremation rites will follow. Visitation will take place on Monday from 4:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. The celebration of Bob's life will continue after the service at the Elks Club in Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Methodist Hospice or Tazewell Animal Protective Society.
