Obituary Metamora- Robert D. Widmer, 51 of Metamora, passed away at 9:25 PM on Friday, August 17, 2012 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. Bob was born on November 15, 1960 in Peoria, IL to Susan (Lyon) Widmer and the late Donald Widmer. Bob married Nancy Pletsch on August 28, 2010 in Metamora, IL. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters and one son, Meaghan Widmer, Chelsea Widmer and Sean Widmer all of Greenwood, IN; a grandson, Conlan Dumas of Greenwood, IN; his mother, Susan Widmer of Washington, two sisters and one brother, Cathleen Widmer of Metamora, Sheila (Pat) Weisbruch of Washington and Mark (Carrie) Widmer of Washington. Bob was preceded in death by his father Don Widmer on March 17, 2011. Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Christian Union Church in Metamora. Pastor Gary Salm will officiate with interment to follow in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 4-7 PM at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. A Prayer Service will take place at 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Additional visitation will take place on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Bob was a salesman for Bob Lindsay Honda in Peoria. He was an avid Cardinals fan. He also enjoyed bike riding, numerous sports activities but most of all spending time with his family.
