Obituary Robert Allen Wentz, 72, of East Peoria, died at 11:50 am Friday, September 5, 2008 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Born on July 20, 1936 in Hartford City, IN to Wayne and Inez Nottingham Wentz, he married Patricia Lee Burt on July 25, 1956 in Peoria, IL. She survives. Also surviving are 1 daughter, Jennifer Wentz of Monticello, IL, 2 grandchildren, Courtney Wells and Jacob Wells, both of Monticello, IL, and 1 brother, Howard (Julie) Wentz of Aurora, CO. He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Bobbi Lee Wentz, 1 brother, Walt and 1 sister, Beulah Stover. Bob was a US Army veteran serving in the Signal Corp. He worked for the Rock Island Railroad for 28 years, where he retired as the last Ticket Agent, selling the last ticket sold in Peoria on the "Rocket". He later worked at J&L Amoco on Springfield Road as a night manager. He also was a volunteer for the Morton Public Library. Bob enjoyed woodworking and invented several games. Services will be at 11 am Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria. The Rev. Brent Foster will officiate. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home.
