Obituary
WASHINGTON - Robert M. Stewart, 82, of Washington, died at 8:25pm Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at Washington Christian Village in Washington.
Born on March 22, 1924 in Ashmore, IL to Adam and Faye Hogue Stewart, he married Anna Mae Ratts on July 3, 1948 in Charleston, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are 2 sons, Kelly D. (Randi) Stewart and Kevin D. (Cheryl) Stewart, both of Washington, IL, 5 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bob was a World War II Army Veteran. He worked as a Railroad Signal Maintainer for Northfolk and Western Railroad in East Peoria for 36 years. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen. Bob had attended Grace Bible Church and had been a member of Sunnyland Christian Church, both in Washington. He also enjoyed fishing.
Services will be at 10am Monday, July 24, 2006 at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington. The Rev. Jim Gorby will officiate. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Sunday, July 23, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
