Robert L. "Bob" Stear, 91, of Washington, passed away at 4:25pm Friday, June 10, 2022 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

He was born December 2, 1930 in Peoria, IL to Chester and Nellie Binegar Stear.  He married Barbara Sommerville in Peoria on June 7, 1959.  She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Janell (significant other, Edward Schrock) Hall, Gay Lynn (Bill) Daniel; six grandchildren, Chealse Hall, Ileia Hall, Bill Daniel, Robert (Jen) Daniel, Ian Daniel, and Emily (Tim) Jans.  He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, and four brothers.

Bob was a United States Navy Veteran.  He worked as a manager for Kroger for 18 years and truck driver for Dolly Madison for 20 years before retiring.

He was a member of the Teamsters.  He loved to work in the garden, History, playing Gin Rummy, reading, and spending time with his family.  He will be dearly missed.

Cremation has been accorded.  A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at 11am Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.  Visitation will be one hour before the service, from 10 to 11am Saturday at the funeral home.  Private inurnment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
