Obituary Robert D. Shreve, 86, of Washington, died at 6:29 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Washington Christian Village. Born on February 3, 1921 in Peoria, to William P. and Lola E. Tanner Shreve, he married Donna J. Laidig on August 16, 1951 in Palmyra, MO. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Lola (Lawrence) Hawkins, of St. Anne, IL, and Becky (Jim) Sturm of Williamsburg, VA; and also three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in WWII. He worked as the Manager of the Service Department at Cohen's Furniture Company in Peoria for many years. He was a member of Disciples of Christ Christian Church in Pekin, IL. A Memorial Service will be at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at Sunnyland Christian Church. Pastor Kathryn Frus will officiate. Following services the family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall. Cremation rites will be accorded. Deiters Funeral Home is assisting the family with the cremation.
