Robert "Bob" K. Shaver, 99, of Washington, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024 at the Eureka Apostolic Christian Home.

He was born October 13, 1924 in Dodge City, Kansas to Albert and Maude (McQuen) Shaver.  He married Shirley Jean Myers in 1943.  She preceded him in death after 72 years of marriage on September 13, 2015.  Also preceding him in death are his parents; two brothers; five sisters; daughter-in-law, Cindy; son-in-law, Dean King; and grandson, James Shaver.

Surviving are five children, Robert (and Phyllis), Michael (and Sharon), Janice King, William (and Mary), and James; 10 grandchildren, Mark (and Carol), Robert (and Cynthia), Clayton (and Amy), Jason (and Michelle), Jeffrey (and Angel) King, Danielle King, Julie, Matthew, Hayden (and Nadia), Nick (and Carissa) Gorham; 20 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Bob was a United States Navy WWII Veteran.  After the service he worked at Wahlfeld Manufacturing Company in Peoria.  He retired in management in 1978.  They then moved to Vero Beach, FL where he was the founder of the family business, Shaver Millwork and Specialties until he retired.

He and his wife were the original donators of Our Father's Table Soup Kitchen in Vero Beach and enjoyed volunteering there.

Cremation has been accorded.  Per his wishes, he will be buried at sea by the Navy with Military Honors.  Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
