Robert E. Rose, Jr. 68, of Peoria, passed away at 12:12am Monday, August 23, 2021 at his home. Robb was born October 16, 1952 in Peoria to the late Robert and Elizabeth Bonomo Rose. He married Cheryl Johnston (preceded him in death). He later married Lori Metzger in 1982. Surviving is his wife Lori of Peoria; son, Kyle (Christina) Rose and their children, Eleanor, Elizabeth (preceded him in death), Michael, and William; son, Cody (Kate) Rose and their children, Adeline, Ruby, and Jett; daughter, Katelyn (Kendall) Smith, and their daughter, Kiara; and his brothers, James Rose, Jonathan (Sue) Rose, and Scott (Michele) Rose. During his 42 year career at Caterpillar, he held many positions in the Peoria area. He also worked in the agricultural division in Dekalb, IL and as a sales and service representative in California. His favorite parts of working for Caterpillar were driving up and down the coastal highways of California and traveling all over the world. Robb was a member of Richwoods Christian Church. He served as a small group coach and a facilitator of a small group in his home. He had a deep love for Jesus, placing his hope in Him. He was a member of the Hupmobile Club and enjoyed showing the family's 1911 Hupmobile at car shows. He also enjoyed playing tennis, racing his Mazda RX-7, boating, water skiing, snow skiing, reading and doing various projects around the house. Most importantly, Robb was a loving husband and father, and cherished time spent with his family. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Friday, August 27, 2021 at Richwoods Christian Church in Peoria. Visitation will be from 9-11:00am Friday at the church. Interment will be at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Youth for Christ or South Side Mission.
