Robert D. Root, 96, formerly of Peoria, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025 at Life Care Center of Gwinnett in Lawrenceville, GA.

He was born March 14, 1929 in Peoria to the late Wilbur and Mabel Elmore Root. He married Edna Rose Gluck on September 25, 1955 in Peoria; she preceded him in death in 2018.

Surviving are his daughters, daughters, Janet (the late Roger) Pelhank, Barbara McElwayne, and Sherrie (Don) Aldrich, all of Georgia; and several grandchildren and

great-grandchildren.

He worked at Peoria Heights Autobody for 15 years.

Private interment will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
