Obituary East Peoria - Robert H. "Bob" Preston, 87, of East Peoria, passed away at 7:44 AM on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Mobile Infirmary, in Mobile, AL. He was born on August 30, 1925 in Peoria to Herman and Cora Wynn Preston. He married Wilma Goett, the mother of his nine children on August 25, 1950 in Peoria. She passed away in 1973. He later married Judy Williamson on January 21, 1978. She survives. Also surviving are six sons; William (Theresa) of Bartonville, Roger of Ranch Bernardo CA, Steven of Dahinda, Brian (Brenda) of Peoria, Philip (Debra) and Kenneth (Becky) both of East Peoria, three daughters; Judith (Ken) Caldwell and Anne Jones (Dennis Caldwell) both of Pekin, Donna Heuermann of Mobile AL, one step-daughter Lisa (Mike) Burrell of Medora IN; twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and several step grand and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Arline Willis. Bob served in the Army-Air Force from 1943 through 1946. He was an electrician, and 65 year member of IBEW Local Union # 34, and worked at Hiram Walker & Sons Distillery in Peoria for seventeen years retiring in 1981. He built a two story; four bedroom home in the 80's and was very talented in all areas of craftsmanship. Bob and Judy enjoyed ballroom dancing at area dance halls and nursing homes. Bob attended First United Methodist Church of East Peoria where there will be a funeral service on Thursday March 7, 2013 at 11 AM. Pastor Mary Arnold will officiate. There will be a visitation from 5-7 PM on Wednesday at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria and also one half hour prior to the funeral at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church in East Peoria or its Food Pantry.
