Obituary Washington- Robert "Bob" Eugene Keplinger, 75, of Washington passed away on Monday, August 11, 2008 at 8:59 AM at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Bob was born on June 1, 1933 in Jonesborough, TN to Horace and Rose D. (Hill) Keplinger. He married Geraldine "Jerry" Kaps on April 11, 1953 in Peoria. She survives. Other survivors are Bob's four daughters Robin Nelson of Eureka, Debra (Galen) Haegele of Davenport, IA, Rhonda and Kevin Elliot of Roosevelt, UT, and Denise (Ken) Crank of Washington; two brothers Jack (Betty) Keplinger of Fall Branch, IN, and Lee (Helen) Keplinger of Peoria; two sisters Ina Arington of Indianapolis, IN and Betty Jo Williams of Jonesborough, TN; Nine Grandchildren and four Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister. Bob was a United States Army veteran. He retired from Caterpillar on March 1, 1981 where he worked in the foundry and later as a machine operator. He was also a member of Bay View Baptist Church in Washington. A service to celebrate Bob's life will be held on Friday, August 15, 2008 at 10 AM located at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington. His Sons-in-law Pastor Galen Haegele and Ken Crank will be officiating. A visitation will also be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 14 from 5-7 PM. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton. Memorials in Bob's name may be made to an Education Fund for his Great-Grandchildren care of Heartland Bank and Trust in Washington.
