Obituary Metamora- Robert J. Hoffman, Sr., 83 of Metamora, formerly of Washington passed away at 10:53 PM Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria. Bob was born April 11, 1930 in Peoria to Charles C. and Pearl E. Boyd Hoffman. He married D. Joyce Prewitt Stockton April 10, 1983 in Washington. Surviving is a son, Robert J."Bob" (Donna) Hoffman, Jr. of Peoria; a daughter, Lynn (Jim) Elam of Arizona; a step-son, Gene (Diane) Stockton of Edelstein; and a step-daughter Rita (James) Wise of Florida, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, 2 sisters and 1 grandson. Bob retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in 1981, after many years of service, where he worked as an inspector and supervisor. He was a member of Roland Manor Baptist Church of Washington, and served as Pathfinder youth group leader at his previous church. Bob enjoyed his many hobbies, especially woodworking and making jewelry. Funeral services for Bob will be 11:00am, Thursday July 25, 2013 at Roland Manor Baptist Church, Washington. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be at Fondulac Cemetery, East Peoria. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory, Washington is assisting the family.
