Robert Ernest "Bob" Oaks , 88, of Washington, passed away on Monday, January 25 at UnityPoint Health- Proctor in Peoria. He was born on March 28, 1932 to Richard and Helen (Philhower) Oaks. He married Betty Jean Keaton on June 11, 1954. He is survived by his wife Betty, whom he was married to for 66 years; and one son, Paul (Teresa) Oaks. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister. Bob was a Navy veteran serving from 1950 to 1954. He worked for Caterpillar for 37 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria. Bob enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles and the many dogs he had throughout his life. Private services will be held and inurnment will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is serving the family.
