Robert "Bob" A Jones, 76, of Washington, formerly of Hopedale, passed away at 11:15pm

Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at The Loft Nursing Home in Eureka surrounded by his family.

Bob was born February 4, 1947 in San Jose to the late Clarence M. and Ruth M. Gilmore

Jones. He married Jean Spatafore on December 18, 1976 at St. Mary's Cathedral in Peoria.

Surviving is his wife, Jean; their children, Stephanie Martinek and Anthony "Tony" Jones;

grandchildren, Kayelee and Hayden Martinek; siblings, Mary Bradford and Ed Jones; and

several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother in law, Ed Bradford, sister in law, Sharon Jones,

nephew Troy Bradford, and an infant sister.

Bob was an Army veteran, serving in a MEDEVAC unit in Vietnam. Though he was humble

regarding his service, he was proudly patriotic. Following his service, he went to work for

Caterpillar for over 37 years, working on numerous projects over the years in the Met Lab. He

enjoyed collecting Native American and Eagle statues as well as spending time with his family.

While he was a resident at The Loft he served as President of the Resident's Committee. He

made many friends in the time he lived at The Loft. He also enjoyed watching Westerns on TV.

His family will receive friends from 5-7:00pm Monday, September 4, 2023 at Deiters Funeral

Home and Crematory. A memorial service with military honors will begin at 7:00 pm on Monday,

September 4, 2023. Inurnment will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton at a later

date.
