Obituary Robert Vernon Blue, 98 of East Peoria died at 11:15 AM on Tuesday August 30, 2011 in Valparaiso, IN. He was born June 15, 1913 in Russell, Iowa to Walter L. and Mary Ethel Kells Blue. He married Laura Marie Dicks on April 29, 1939 in Centerville, Iowa. She survives. Also surviving are one son David (Lauren) Blue of Valparaiso, IN, two daughters, Sharon Allen of Fort Wayne, IN, and Linda (Joseph) Reiniche of Goshen, IN, and one daughter in law Nancy Blue of Chandler, Arizona. Ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by one son Vernon Blue, 6 sisters and 6 brothers. He was a carpenter foreman for over 30 years and a member for over 60 years of the Peoria Local 83 Carpenters Union. He was also a member of Bethany Missionary Church in East Peoria serving as building chairman, trustee, deacon, and Sunday School teacher. He will be remembered for his hospitality and generosity to others as well as his devoted love for his wife and family. There will be a funeral service for Robert at 10:30 AM on Tuesday September 6th at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Monday and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Rev. Joe Weyer and Rev. Doane Brubaker will officiate.
