Obituary Washington - Robert S. Bireline, 95, of Washington passed away at 4:54 PM on Monday February 10, 2014 at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria. He was born May 19, 1918 in Peoria to Frank E. and Emma Keye Bireline. He married Esther Pomerenke on February 7, 1942 in Rock Island. She passed away December 10, 2007 in Mesa, Arizona. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Robert is survived by two daughters; Karon (John) Roberts of Pickerington, Ohio and Kathryn (Gordon) Gilomen of Peoria, five grandchildren; Jennifer Gilomen, Lisa (Kevin) Luoma, Melissa (David) Gudal, Eric Roberts, Beth Gilomen, and three great-grandchildren; Carter, Lane, and Marin Luoma. Robert worked over 40 years for Caterpillar in purchasing. He retired in 1979. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Peoria and a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington. Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be a graveside service at a later date at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is handling arrangements.
