Obituary Robert "Bob" L. Bailey, Sr., 86 of East Peoria, passed away at 2:52pm, Saturday, September 6, 2014 at his home. Bob was born December 25, 1927 in Niangua, MO to Vern and Gladys Elmore Bailey; they preceded him in death. He married Norma Myers in Peoria on April 30, 1949; she survives. Also surviving are their four children, Bob Bailey, Jr. of Washington, David (Nancy) Bailey of St. Louis, Connie (Dan) Christianson of Morton, and Gary (Kim) Bailey of Lebanon, MO; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, and 1 sister. Bob served in the United States Navy from 1945-1946. He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. in 1984 after 36 years of service. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Roland Manor Baptist Church for over 50 years. He was also a member of UAW Local #974 and the Izaak Walton League. Bob enjoyed tending to his yard and garden and especially loved spending time with his family. A funeral service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Roland Manor Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5-7:00pm, Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Burial will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Pastor Steve Hardin will officiate.
