Rob Whelan, 44, of East Peoria and Washington, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025 in Washington.

He was born July 16, 1980 in Peoria to Robert "Pat" and Sharon Whelan.  He married Tiffany L. Buhs on December 5, 1997 in Pekin.  She survives.

Also surviving are his parents, Robert "Pat" Whelan and Sharon Lehman; son, Logan; daughter, Kelsey; two brothers, Ryan and Nick; Uncle Dan and Aunt Ellen; and many cousins.  He was preceded in death by a son, Robbie; uncle, Mike; and grandparents, Mary and Bob Whelan.

Rob has had many jobs including installing tile and terrazzo, driving trucks for Sorce Enterprises and Joe's Towing. For 10 years was owner and operator of Sunnyland Car Wash.

Rob was currently working at the North Tazewell Public Water Department.

He enjoyed tinkering with cars and rebuilding small equipment and was a jack of all trades.  He loved spending time with his family and friends. Was a wonderful husband and dad. Loved telling jokes. Could have been a comedian. Also enjoyed rough housing the family pets. He will be dearly missed.

Per his wishes, cremation has been accorded and there will be no service.  Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
