Obituary EAST PEORIA- Riggs B. Corbin, 85, of East Peoria, died at 10:07 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2007 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on January 3, 1922 in Peoria, to William F. and Helen Robards Corbin. He married Betty Osman on July 22, 1945 in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Riggs M. "Rick" (and Teddy) Corbin of Pekin; one daughter, Karen A. Hirth of East Peoria; three sisters, Georgia Corbin of Creve Coeur; Rachel Tennell of Tulsa, OK; Helen Krejcik of Jamestown, California, also surviving are one granddaughter, Alison (and David) Jackson, and two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Nathan Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister,Mary. Riggs was a United States Marine Corp Veteran. He worked as a plasterer from 1945-1955. and worked as a Illinois State Trooper till 1959. He later retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. after 20 years of service as a security officer. He was a member of the East Peoria VFW Lodge #2078, and also a member of the AF & AM Masonic Lodge #1143. He also was a former member of the East Peoria Police and Fire Commission. Private Family Graveside Services will be on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. The Rev. Bill Lakota Eastin will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the Alzheimer's Association.
