Richard "Dick" Wennmacher, 83, of East Peoria, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side at 7:12pm Sunday, September 11, 2022.

He was born March 15, 1939 in Peoria, IL to Arthur and Eleanor Funfsinn Wennmacher.  He married Sandy Hatfield on February 20, 1960 in Peoria, she survives.  He later married Jeri Kaffer on June 4, 2022 in East Peoria.  She survives.

Also surviving are four children, Debbie (companion, Joey Marsh) Wennmacher, Darren (Kim) Wennmacher, Dianne "Bunny" (Ty) Harbourn, DaVonne (Brett) Pierce; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Carol (Gene) McDonald.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard "Ricky" Jr.; two brothers, Don and Jerry; and one sister, Mary.

Dick worked as an electrician with Oberlander Protection Alarms for 26 years.  He then worked at S & S Builders Hardware for 30 years, retiring in 2019 at the age of 80.

He enjoyed working, taking care of his yard, bowling, the Chicago Cubs, and spending time with his friends and family.  He will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6pm Friday, September 16, 2022 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.  A funeral service will follow at 6pm Friday with Pastor Tom Grose officiating.  Inurnment will be at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
