Obituary EAST PEORIA - Richard W. Seib, 78, of East Peoria, died Sunday, November 12, 2006 at his home in Germantown Hills. Born on March 24, 1928 in Chicago, IL to William and Ida Sparesus Seib, he married Virginia Johnson on August 28, 1948. He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Robert. Surviving are his wife, Virginia; two daughters, Linda (Thom) Simpson of Germantown Hills, Patti (Corky) Schumacher of Peoria; one son, Ronald (Sally Wyzlic) Seib of Waconia, MN, 7 grandchildren, Jennifer (Mark) Schellenberg of Oswego, IL ,Tyler (Andrea) Simpson of Redmond, WA, Cassandra Schumacher of Peoria, Emily Schumacher of Mahwah, New Jersey, Ryan, Rebecca and Renee Seib all of Waconia, Minnesota; five great-grandchildren, Caleb, Joshua, Matthew, Megan, and Emma Schellenberg, all of Oswego; sister, Shirley Goldstead of Glenview, IL and brother, Roger William (Virginia) Seib of Glen Ellyn, IL. He worked in the insurance field 19 years with Commercial Union in Chicago and Peoria, then 40 years as an Independent Agent in the Iliff and Hauser Ins. Agency, Peoria, and the John Goar Agency, Pekin. Dick was one of the founders of the Metamora-Germantown Hills Rotary, active in starting the Germantown Hills Athletic Association and served as a school board member for Germantown Hills District 69. He was a charter member of Faith Bible Church, now Faith Evangelical Free Church. He served for 60 years in music ministry at churches in Chicago and Germantown Hills. He invested his time and talents in his family, his friends and in service to others. A funeral service will be at 10 am Tuesday, November 21st at Faith Evangelical Free Church on Lourdes Road in Metamora. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Monday, November 20th at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora. Professional, loving care for Richard and the family was provided by Harbor Light Hospice.
