Obituary HOPEDALE - Richard L. 'Dick' Offenback, 74, of Hopedale died at 4:07 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2011. He was born March 5, 1936, in Peoria, Ill., to Fred and Dorothy (Schorr) Offenback. He married Carolyn Pace on April 7, 1963, in Peoria. She survives of Hopedale. Also surviving are two sons, Richard Jr. of Champaign, Ill., and Bill (Brandy) of Elmwood, Ill.; one daughter, Lori Offenback of Portland, Ore.; one sister, Betty (Glen) Carr of Napa, Calif.; and six grandchildren, Ashlyn, Sydney, Rhayne, Becca, Hannah and Alyssa Offenback. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Fred. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1954 to 1956. Dick was an X-ray service engineer at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria for 20 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Peoria SDA Church on Knoxville Avenue and its Mens Quartet. Dick enjoyed cheating at golf and relentlessly searched for errant golf balls. He spent a lot of time helping his children with remodeling projects and he loved spending time with his granddaughters.
