Obituary Richard "Dick" Neville, 90, of Washington, passed away at 5:06pm Sunday, October 15, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Dick was born on March 13, 1927 in Pekin to Elmer and Evelyn McGinnis Neville. He married Lila Boyd on July 4, 1959 in Virden. Surviving is his wife Lila, of Washington; his children, Greg Neville and Anita Metternich, both of Washington; granddaughter, Haleigh Metternich; brother, Ralph (Barb) Neville of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Gene Neville. Dick retired from Caterpillar after 40 years of service in machine repair. He was a Navy veteran, serving during World War II; he was privileged to be part of the Honor Flight in 2015. When his children were young, he was active with them in Scouting and the Y Indian Guides. He was an avid golfer and bowler, as well as a Cubs fan. A funeral service for Dick will be held at 10:00am Friday, October 20, 2017 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be from 5-7:00pm Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton. In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe be made to Washington Presbyterian Church, Greater Peoria Honor Flight, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the American Heart Association. .
