Obituary
Richard E. Miner, 77, of Washington, IL, died at 6:22 am Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Unity Point Health -Methodist in Peoria, IL.
Born on August 6, 1935 in Chicago, IL to Roy Edwin and Dorothy Jane Trott Miner, he married Beverly "Susie" Foley on June 16, 1963 in McLean, IL.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Susie, 1 son, Roy Miner of Washington, IL, 2 daughters, Robin (Doug) Wort of Bloomington, IL, and Rhonda (Dave) Gile of Raleigh, NC, 5 grandchildren, Cale, Crayton, and Carlyn Wort and Jacquelyn and Justine Gile, and his extended family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rich served in the US Army National Guard.
He was formerly employed by Hohmeiers Window, Leonard, Vavrus Construction, Diversified Buildings, and Total Petroleum Services. For the past 30 years, he has been self-employed as the owner of Miner Construction in Washington.
Rich enjoyed making wood cabinetry, having a large garden, traveling, model railroading, and spending time with his family and grandkids.
Services will be at 11 am Monday, June 17, 2013 at Crossroads United Methodist Church. Rev. Dan Doty will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Burial will be in Funks Grove Cemetery in Funks Grove.
