Obituary Richard "Rick" W. Klaus, 67, of Peoria passed away at 11:50 pm Saturday, July 9, 2016 at his home. He was born Nov. 30, 1948 in Peoria to Henry and Wilma Waggoner Klaus. He married Marlene R. Moell on Aug. 17, 1974 in Peoria Heights. She survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Kevin (Rachael) Klaus of Peoria, Ryan Klaus of Peoria; 5 grandchildren: Charity, Guy, Mary, Adam, Devin; sister, Carmen (Dick) Oakford of Dunlap; brother, Robert "Bob" of East Peoria; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Rick was a US Army Vietnam Veteran. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Eureka College and went on to work in his father's business, Klaus Radio Inc. in Peoria before retiring. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed traveling, U of I sports, Bradley basketball, and loved spending time with his family. Memorials may be made to Faith United Methodist Church in East Peoria, Sunnyland Christian Church, or the American Diabetes Assoc. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2016 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home with Pastor Evan Williams officiating. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
