Richard K. "Rich" Johns, 67, of Peoria Heights, passed away at 3:37 pm Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at UnityPoint Health Proctor in Peoria.

He was born February 16, 1955 in Peoria, IL to Valvey Gene and Wilma Praag Johns. He married Mary J. Nagel in Creve Coeur, IL on

September 7, 1974. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Mike Johns, Brian (Maggie) Johns; six grandchildren, Schuyler, Gavin, Connor, Grace, Hazel, Piper; and his sister, Tyra (Keith) Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Rich worked at ADM before retiring. He loved coaching and playing hockey. He was an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan. His greatest joy was being able to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his puppy Baxter. He loved family vacations especially to Florida. He will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, Nov. 15 from 4 to 6pm at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. The funeral service will

be at 10am Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at any CEFCU to a memorial account in his name for an education fund for his

grandchildren.
