Obituary East Peoria- Richard "Dick" Bittner, 75, of East Peoria passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at his residence. Dick was born on November 15, 1940 in Peoria to Joseph W. and Helen M. Christian Bittner. He married Victoria Haase Merritt on April 10, 1988 in Peoria She survives and resides in East Peoria. Also surviving are his children, Teri Larson of Delavan and Karena (Gary) Schneider of Ashland City, TN; stepchildren, Nicole (Dave) Klings of Washington, Colleen Forbes of East Peoria, David (Wendy) Merritt of East Peoria and Jeff (Jennifer) Merritt of Metamora; eleven grandchildren; and three sisters, Joanne Goodin of Pekin, Marge Deeter of Easley, S.C., and Carol (Rich) Grah of Tulsa, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brother-in-laws, Gerald Goodin and Dale Deeter. Dick worked as an account executive at Fleming Potter in Peoria for nearly 40 years. Dick loved being outdoors in the sunshine, whether it be golfing or working on his landscaping and yard work. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and his beloved Yorkie, Bear. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital- Midwest Affiliate. There will be no services.
