Obituary Richard D. "Dick" Adams, 76, of Washington IL, died at 1:46 pm Friday, January 27, 2017 at Washington Christian Village in Washington. Born on September 19, 1940 in Chenoa, IL to John and Ethel Burke Adams, he married Celia Cowley Rosecrans on April 4, 1987 in East Peoria, IL. She survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters, Kristy Adams and Tammy Adams Johnson, 1 step-son, Gregory Allen (Heidi) Rosecrans of Washington, IL, 2 sisters, Elizabeth (Kenny) Christopher of Kankakee, IL and Mary (Larry) Robinson of Washington, IL, and 4 grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death. Dick worked as an Estimator for George Young and Sons in Peoria, IL and was a member of the Brick Layers Union. He also served as a board member of the Northern Tazewell Water District for 35 years and was a member of Washington Christian Church in Washington. He enjoyed playing in golf leagues at Quail Meadows in East Peoria and Hillcrest Golf Course in Washington. His retirement included winters in Florida, enjoying his motorhome and playing shuffleboard. Funeral Services for Dick will be at 11 am Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Washington Christian Church. Pastor Jeff Browning will officiate. Visitation will be from 10-11 am Tuesday at the church. A graveside service will be at 2 pm Tuesday at Elmwood Cemetery in Elmwood, IL. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to his church.
