Obituary EAST PEORIA - Rena Barton Rigelwood, 82, of East Peoria, died at 7:05 pm Sunday, February 18, 2007 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born on June 27, 1924 in Bowling Green, KY to Powell Bart and Pearl Jones Wheet, she married Albert Ray Rigelwood on October 24, 1940 in Bowling Green, KY. He died on October 18, 2005 in East Peoria, IL. Surviving is 1 daughter, Jan (Ron) Neuliep of Creve Coeur, IL; 1 son, Steve (Shelly) Rigelwood of East Peoria, IL; 1 granddaughter, Stephanie Nicole Rigelwood, 1 step-grandson, Aaron Klunk, and 2 step-granddaughters, Ashley and Alyssa Klunk, all of East Peoria; and 2 sisters, Edith (Herschel) Lowe and Lucyrene Price, both of Bowling Green, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 son, Albert Ray Jr., 1 grandson, Eric Rigelwood on March 18, 2006, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Rena was a homemaker and the most loving mother. Her greatest joy was making others laugh. Her sweet smile and funny ways will be what is missed the most by her family and friends. Rena was a member of Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Washington. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria with Pastor Jeremy Miller officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30AM-12 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Memorials may be made to her church.
