Raymond E. Wettstein, 83, of Eureka, IL, went home to be with Jesus at 12:51 am Thursday, January 6, 2022 in Peoria, IL. Born on January 16, 1938 at the family farm Eureka, IL to Sam and Hazel Pepper Wettstein, he married Sally J. Bishop on June 1, 1957 in Morton, IL. She survives. Also surviving are 3 children; Connie (Marvin) Ehnle of Morton, IL, Carla (Philip) Lehman of Eureka, IL, and Ron (Julie) Wettstein of Washington, IL, 6 grandchildren; Trisha (Shawn) Sullivan, Traci (Anthony) Lopez, Matthew (LaDonna) Lehman, Blake (Alexis) Lehman, Nate Wettstein, and Emma Wettstein, and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Richard Wettstein. Ray was a lifelong farmer and cattleman, especially enjoying his shorthorn cattle. He was fond of his life on the farm and time spent with family. Per Ray's wishes, there will be no service or visitation. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
