Obituary PEORIAa"Raymond G. Uphoff, 79, of Wildwood MO, formerly of Peoria, died at 12:13 PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at his residence. Born September 24, 1929 in Bartonville, IL to Bernard and Marie Pille Uphoff, he married Edith Grachek in 1951. He later married Diane Marsh in 1973 and later divorced. Surviving are his stepson, Vince Hale of Trenton, IL; 3 step-daughters, Judy, Joyce and Jennifer; 2 sisters, Lucille Bruce of East Peoria, and Maxine Walley of Bartonville; and 3 brothers, Rolland (Barbara) Uphoff of Wildwood, MO, Wendell (Wanda) Uphoff of East Peoria, and Marvin (Opal) Uphoff of Pekin; 7 nieces and nephews, Sandy Schroder, Charlotte French, Wanda Rippy, Kerry Uphoff, Greg Uphoff, Lisa Lechton, and Randy Uphoff. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Warner, and 2 brothers-in-law, Lester Bruce and George Walley. Raymond was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. Raymond retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria, where he worked as a supervisor for 31 years. After his retirement, he enjoyed his work as a security agent at Wal-Mart. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, July 6, 2009 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria; The Rev. Terry Goode will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Swan Lake memory Gardens in Peoria.
