Obituary

Randall R. Holliday, 59, of Peoria, passed away at 1:15am Monday, March 21, 2022 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.

He was born October 23, 1962 in Washington to the late Melvin and Betty Jane Leib Holliday.

He is survived by his nieces Cassandra McQuiston-Reed of Peoria and Amanda Holliday of Mundelein; great-nieces and great-nephews, Amoriana Reed, Emonti Reed, Franklin Reed, and Jace Holliday; aunt, Helen Loehr of Florissant, MO and her family; brother, Eric Holliday of Festus, MO.

He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Tammy Holliday and Sandra McQuiston.

Randy graduated from Washington Community High School and joined the Marines in 1982. His service during the Gulf War and in Desert Storm was decorated and he was honorably discharged with the rank of Sargeant in 1995. He was a semi driver from 1995-2000, a job he enjoyed, until he sustained a traumatic brain injury and returned to the area to live with his sister, Sandy.

He loved running, playing the lotto, a good game of rummy and spending time with his family. He never knew a stranger and was a wonderful son, brother, and uncle. He gave his all to everything he did, worked hard, and was very patient and meticulous. His energy, sweet spirit, and humor will be missed.

Inurnment with military honors will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington at a later date.
